VONDA7 has been on a steady incline of late raising her profile and growing her fan base with every new release, and she is deservedly considered to be one of the most hotly tipped fresh talents around at the moment.
Having already built up a very impressive back catalogue she has also shown a versatility in her sound with melodic EP’s on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth and Guy Gerber’s Rumors, being in stark contrast to her hard hitting outings on Dense & Pika’s Kneaded Pains, and Pan-Pot’s Second State.
Currently VONDA7 seems to be focusing more on the harder side of her sound and this new EP on Strange Idols certainly shows she knows how to make a banger. With a strong influence from the classic sound of Detroit, the title track on the EP “Stay Organic” has jazzy chords looped over jackin’ percussion.
If it wasn’t for the vocal it would be easy to confuse the track as being from someone like DJ Bone, but the commanding vocal brings a modern flavour more in line with the style of the label boss Tiger Stripes who also features on the EP as a remix artist.
We have been lucky enough to exclusively premiere the EP’s title track, and you can purchase a copy from HERE.
